Shocklog 298 HT-Cellular
Electronic transport monitoring with real-time notifications
With the ShockLog® 298 HT and ShockLog Cellular module set, we offer a practical solution for transport monitoring. In combination, the ShockLog® 298 HT provides precise measured values for shock, temperature and humidity, while the Cellular module enables optimum transport monitoring through real-time alerts and a location query via the mobile network (3G/2G). Data can be viewed in real time via the SpotSee Cloud.
Do you want to know what happens to your goods during transportation and storage right through to sale? ShockLog® data loggers are used to be able to verifiably determine the cause of damage and to clarify recourse issues in cooperation with insurers. Thanks to direct data transmission with the ShockLog® Cellular module to the SpotSee Cloud, it also offers optimum theft protection, as deviations from the transport route can be quickly detected and reported to the authorities.
The ShockLog® 298 from SpotSee offers the possibility of optimizing transport routes and packaging so that sophisticated damage prevention can be achieved within the logistics chain. ShockLog® data loggers are the first choice for these requirements.
The ShockLog® Cellular module extends the monitoring functions of the ShockLog® 298 shock data logger with a cellular module, enabling real-time transport monitoring and warning messages in the event of improper transportation. If the previously defined shock values are exceeded, a notification is sent to you via SMS or e-mail, provided the ShockLog® Cellular Module is connected to the mobile network.

Perfect installation using "bolts and buffers"
Where conditions permit and the cargo allows the ShockLog 298 to be mounted using drill holes, we recommend the use of "bolts and buffers".
These special screw-in inserts function essentially like a dowel, whilst simultaneously ensuring that the ShockLog has minimal contact with bare metal or steel frames. The primary purpose of the "Buffer" screw-in elements is to absorb and reduce high impact vibrations across steel or metal surfaces; these vibrations are therefore not transferred to the ShockLog, are not relevant to the load, and do not usually lead to impact damage caused by incorrect handling of the cargo. This ensures that only those shock impacts that are truly critical to the goods being transported are accurately recorded.
If it is not possible to make structural alterations to the transport object by drilling, it can be attached using strong double-sided adhesive tape (military-grade tape) or other customised fastening methods.
General installation instructions:
We recommend attaching the ShockLog 298 data logger to the object being monitored itself, rather than to the floor of the crate, container or trailer, etc.
This allows for the most precise measurement of impact forces on components within the transport object that are directly at risk.
Exception: Where the aim is specifically to determine the impact forces on the means of transport.
ShockLog warning sticker and correct installation of the ShockLog 298
ShockLog warning sticker:
To clearly identify the presence of electronic transport monitoring and inform the carrier, we recommend affixing the ShockLog warning sticker (DIN A4 format) to the outer packaging of the goods being transported.
The psychological effect of this information ensures that your goods are handled correctly throughout the entire transport process.
The warning sticker indicates the presence of electronic transport monitoring inside the packaging in two languages: German and English.
Please note the following instructions when applying the sticker:
When installing the ShockLog 298, ensure precise axial alignment at all times. It must not be mounted on sloping surfaces or inclined planes, as this will alter the sensor sensitivities.
Standard mounting:
z-axis for vertical impacts
x-axis for horizontal impacts in the direction of travel
y-axis for horizontal impacts from the right or left
Photographic documentation of the installation is strongly recommended so that the recorded impact values can subsequently be matched to the specific axial movements.
